Kate Middleton Just Shared a New Photo of Princess Charlotte for an Important Reason
A great pic for a great cause.
Kate Middleton is bringing attention to an important cause with a ridiculously cute photo of Princess Charlotte. On Saturday, the Duchess of Cambridge shared a candid snapshot of her six-year-old daughter holding a butterfly in an effort to urge people to participate in the Big Butterfly Count Initiative that's taking place across the U.K. this weekend.
"We wanted to share these beautiful Peacock and Red Admiral butterflies as part of Big #ButterflyCount initiative taking place across the UK," read the caption on the Cambridge's Instagram page alongside an image of Charlotte cupping the colorful insect while wearing a blue T-shirt with lace detailing and pink floral shorts.
The message continued, "@savebutterflies are encouraging us all to count these incredible creatures because not only are they beautiful creatures to be around but they are also extremely important. Butterflies are vital parts of the ecosystem as both pollinators and components of the food chain." The Cambridges added, "Hopefully you can beat last year's total, @savebutterflies 🦋."
In the comments section of the post, royal fans were in disbelief over how grown up Charlotte looked in the photo. "Princess Charlotte is getting so big," wrote one user, while another noted that the young royal is starting to take after her mom. And according to her dad Prince William, Charlotte also thinks she's older than she really is.
"She's six, yeah," the Duke of Cambridge said shortly after Charlotte's birthday this May. "If you ask her, she says she's 16…Charlotte says, 'I'm 6 now, I'll do what I want.' It's like, they grow up really fast."
