Princess Beatrice Wore the Queen's Tiara and Vintage Gown for Her Secret Wedding
The royal family released the first photos of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's wedding.
On Friday, Princess Beatrice of York married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a secret ceremony at Windsor Castle. The event was not only attended by her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, but her entire look was also provided by Her Majesty as well.
In an Instagram post on the royal family's Instagram account, the first photos of the newlyweds were released. In the caption, the family expressed their congratulations and gave some insight into Beatrice's gown and tiara.
"Congratulations to HRH Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi! The couple were married in a small private ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor on Friday 17th July," the post read. "The happy couple are pictured with Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.Princess Beatrice wore a vintage dress by Norman Hartnell and the Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara, both belonging to Her Majesty The Queen. The tiara was worn by Her Majesty on her wedding day in 1947."
The images show Beatrice and Mapelli Mozzi standing socially distanced from the Queen and Prince Philip. Princess Beatrice paid homage to her grandmother's exact wedding look wearing the same tiara that Her Majesty wore in 1947.
On Sunday, two more photos by photographer Benjamin Wheeler were added to the royal family's Instagram grid. Both snaps offered a closer look at Beatrice's gorgeous vintage gown, including a full-length shot showcasing its beaded handiwork.
"Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of York and Mr. Mapelli Mozzi have been touched by the warm wishes they have received since their wedding, and are delighted to share two additional photographs of their happy day," read the caption. "The pictures show Princess Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi in the grounds of Royal Lodge after their wedding."
The newlyweds opted for an intimate ceremony of only 20 people, with Beatrice walked down the aisle by her father, Prince Andrew, and Mapelli Mozzi's son acting as best man.
