InStyle's editorial guidelines Published on July 25, 2020 @ 12:15PM Pin Share Tweet Email In the midst of dropping her surprise album Folklore this week, Taylor Swift debuted an entirely new look that the internet is describing as "cottagecore" — an aesthetic that romanticizes the rural lifestyle (think: free-flowing dresses, straw hats, and flower crowns). Case in point: In the music video for her song "Cardigan," Swift plays the piano in a woodsy cabin while wearing what appears to be a nightgown, and for the album's cover art, her naturally curly hair is styled into prairie-inspired pigtail buns. However, it appears as if the real cottagecore queen came long before the singer-songwriter. On Friday, Nicole Kidman posted a throwback clip of herself on the set of The Beguiled — an atmospheric thriller that takes place in the south during the Civil War — in costume singing husband Keith Urban's "Blue Ain't Your Color." “On the set of #BeguiledMovie 💛#Folklore Sisters... Love this album xx,” Kidman captioned the video of herself, which was followed by a photo of Swift looking identical to the Aussie actress on her album cover. Taylor recognized the resemblance, and commented back: "This just made me GRIN 💕💕💕 you’re the greatest.” Did Taylor Swift Just Reveal the Name of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds's Youngest Daughter? Nicole wasn't the only fan of Swift's new music, "squad" members Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, and Blake Lively also publicly praised their friend's accomplishment on social media. "Thank you @taylorswift and @aarondessner @jackantonoff @boniver & #williambowery. Can we all please crawl inside that piano with you and live in this album," Lively — whose youngest daughter's name, Betty, was revealed on the album — shared on Instagram Stories. She added, "Like you, Folklore is full of heart, soul, humor, passion, intelligence, wit, whimsy, reality, imagination, strength, vulnerability, and above all things: LOVE. We <3 you!"
