The Stars Aligned for Michael Kors's Access Party—Step Inside the NYFW Fête

The end of New York Fashion Week is always bittersweet, but Michael Kors made sure to wrap up the string of high-fashion festivities with a bang. On Wednesday night, the designer hosted a party to celebrate the next generation of the brand’s Access Smart Watch. The event took place at N.Y.C.’s Artbeam Gallery and featured appearances by many of Michael’s model muses, including Ashley Graham and Kate Upton (both walked in his show earlier that day). Guests sipped on cocktails and posed with the venue’s creative light fixtures, which were comprised of industrial lighting rods posed in the shape of an “M.” DJ and model Alexandra Richards spun a mix of contemporary favorites while images of peaceful locales (and also Michael Kors smart watches) flooded the multiple screens surrounding the main room. Naomi Campbell and More Stars “Dress for Bill” at a Memorial for Photographer Bill Cunningham

No crowd comes together quite as boldly as those in fashion. That’s what occurred on Monday inside New York’s Carnegie Hall, where a pack of A-listers, designers, and street style regulars came together to honor legendary New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham, who passed away at 87 in June. Hosted by the newspaper, which asked everyone to “dress for Bill,” guests like Naomi Campbell arrived and mingled with Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, and other notables that regularly saw Cunningham around the city. According to WWD, the tribute lasted 90 minutes and featured a montage of the photographer’s work, along with a blue jacket and bicycle on stage that depicted his signature look. Former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg reportedly shared touching words about Cunningham, saying, “Bill understood that the best runways were the streets of New York.” Campbell paid her respects to the celebrated journalist in an all-white look with oversize black sunglasses that together took the attention away from her, and over to the man of the hour.
