The Duchess of Sussex appeared via a video message on the finale of Americas Got Talent. She was there to send a message to singer Archie Williams who was wrongly convicted of raping a 31-year-old woman in 1982. Williams spent several decades in prison but was released in 2019 after a fingerprint test exonerated him. In the message, Markle joked about how his name is the same as her son, saying her support was "not just because we're partial to the name." She continued, "So a very special message to you that I will probably be saying all of my life, but this night, it is specifically for you." She continued, "Archie, we are proud of you and we are rooting for you, and we can't wait to see what you do. We're in your corner. Have a good night!" For the appearance, Markle wore a blouse by Victoria Beckham along with a pair of black leather pants. In the background was a shelf of carefully placed decor including a diptyque candle and a stack of books. Among the books was which features several of her friends including Oprah Winfrey, and a book about music executive Clarence Avant.
