Meghan Markle Made a Case for Voluminous Sleeves During a Surprise Appearance on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show'

The Duchess of Sussex is no stranger to the Warner Bros. lot.

Nature is healing and Meghan Markle is returning to the daytime talk show circuit.

The Duchess of Sussex made her triumphant debut on The Ellen Degeneres Show, which airs Thursday, marking the former actress's first daytime talk show appearance since she married into the royal family in 2018.

Markle appeared on DeGeneres's stage in elevated basics (her public appearance go-to), chatting with the host in a long-sleeved white top with voluminous sleeves that cinched at the wrist and bore a series of cutouts. The royal paired the simple (yet elegant) blouse with cropped black trousers and matching pumps. Markle wore her loose dark waves parted down the middle and kept her makeup simple with a pink-nude lip and natural flush.

The mother of two reminisced about returning to the Warner Bros. lot for the taping, as she used to visit often for auditions.

"The security guards would always say, 'Break a leg! We hope you get it!' So the drive in today was very different," Markle shared, adding that the guards "probably said it to everybody. That's how nice they were."

The duchess remembered parking in the lot in her old Ford Explorer Sport — the driver's side door of which no longer opened with her key. Needless to say, she had to get creative.

"I would park in the back of the parking lot and open the trunk, then climb in and pull it shut behind me and crawl over all my seats to get out," she told DeGeneres. "That's how I would come to and fro."

Markle said she'd "play it off" if anyone happened to pass by. "I would go like, 'Oh, I'm just looking for my resume … My highlighters for my script … Oh maybe it's back there …'"

Sounds like that performance should've won her any role.
