Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Daughter Has Already Met the Queen

Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor is less than a week old and she's already been bestowed an honor most people only dream about: an introduction to the Queen.

According to People, the newborn (whose first name is an homage to her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth) met the monarch during a video call. A source told the publication that proud new parents Megan Markle and Prince Harry were "very excited and couldn't wait to share that their daughter arrived" when they'd returned to their Montecito home after welcoming their second child.

Though it's unclear if Lili has been introduced to other members of the royal family (or when she will be), the extended family seems to be overjoyed by the tot's arrival.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, congratulated the couple on Instagram, writing, "We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie."

On Tuesday, Lili's grandfather Prince Charles commented on the "happy news" during a speech at a BMW factory.

"The development of technology like electric vehicles, or green hydrogen for that matter for heavy transport, is vital for maintaining the health of our world for future generations, something I am only too aware of today, having recently become a grandfather for the fifth time," he reportedly said during his visit.

"Such happy news really does remind one of the necessity of continued innovation in this area - especially around sustainable battery technology - in view of the legacy we bequeath to our grandchildren."
