Here's the Email Meghan Markle Sent About the Kate Middleton Crying Rumor
Last week, she told Oprah the "reverse" is what actually happened.
During Oprah's explosive interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry last Sunday, the Duchess of Sussex discussed a rumor that she had once made Kate Middleton cry. But as she tells it, the "reverse" happened.
"A few days before the wedding, she was upset about something — yes, the issue was correct, about the flower girl dresses — and it made me cry and it really hurt my feelings," Meghan explained. "And I thought in the context of everything else that was going on in those days leading to the wedding, it didn't make sense to not be just doing whatever everyone else is doing, which was trying to be supportive knowing what was going on with my dad and whatnot."
Meghan added, "I don't say that to be disparaging. She was upset about something, but she owned it and apologized."
Royal reporter Omid Scobie has now given even more backing to Meghan's side of the story with part of an email Meghan reportedly sent on the matter. In his latest Harper's Bazaar story, Scobie says that Kensington Palace requested that Prince Harry speak out about a report that Prince William "constantly bullied" the Sussexes before their decision to leave the U.K.
Markle replied to that email reportedly saying, "Well, if we're just throwing any statement out there now, then perhaps KP can finally set the record straight about me [not making Kate cry]."
According to Harper's Bazaar, that suggestion was ignored and Meghan was allegedly told that Kate wouldn't comment on idle gossip.
While there is clearly plenty of tension between the Sussexes and the Cambridges, sources for Page Six say that they are "looking for ways to have a heart-to-heart talk."
