Mariah Carey's New Boo Carried Her On Stage Before Her NYE Performance
Mariah Carey's performance may not have gone as planned last night, but at least her new beau was there to support her—literally! The pop diva was spotted getting cozy with backup dancer Bryan Tanaka at rehearsal in Times Square, and she posted a cute Instagram with him, too.
The "All I Want for Christmas Is You" singer split from her former fiancé James Packer in October, and since, she's been linked to Tanaka, one of her long-time backup dancers. The pair rung in 2017 together last night, sharing a cute snap on Instagram.
In the pic, Tanaka and another man are holding up Carey, seemingly to carry her onto the stage. For her rehearsal in Times Square, Carey wore a pair of tight black pants with lace details up the leg, a matching top, and a black trench coat. She rocked a big pair of shades and carried a gold microphone as she prepped for the iconic celebration. She captioned the picture with, "#RockinEve Rehearsals Let's do this, @officialNYRE! #2017WithMariah"
Due to some technical difficulties, Carey's performance didn't go off completely smoothly, but she posted an appropriate message to those who criticized her: "S— happens Have a happy and healthy new year everybody!"
