Lorde Wore Her Hair as a Scarf on the Red Carpet

That's one way to keep warm.

Leave it to Lorde to find a wildly inventive way to keep warm while walking the red carpet as temperatures everywhere begin to dip. On Wednesday night, the singer attended the 2021 Guggenheim International Gala in New York City and defied winter by wearing a strapless pleated gown with no coat. Though, she did have on a scarf (sort of).

Wrapping her long dark hair around her neck and securing the strands from behind in a low-slung ponytail, Lorde transformed her mane into a makeshift muffler. She accessorized with silver beaded drop earrings, a cluster of rings, and bronze eyeshadow that complemented the color of her marigold dress.

Following her red carpet appearance, Lorde headed inside the event and changed her outfit (and hairstyle) before taking the stage for her performance. The songstress swapped her evening gown and hair-scarf for a sparkly gold pantsuit and braided pigtails tied with matching bows.

Back in September, Lorde eschewed fashion norms once again, and appeared on the cover of Vogue wearing gold flowers as a top. She paired the show-stopping Schiaparelli number with her hair slicked back and wet. What's next?
