Lily Collins, Kaley Cuoco, and More React to Their Golden Globe Nominations

It was an excellent morning to be Lily Collins, Kaley Cuoco, or any of the people nominated for Golden Globes this year. Early on Wednesday morning, the nominations for the 2021 ceremony were announced, among them a history-making three nominations for women in the Best Director category, and Nomadland helmer Chloe Zhao becoming the first woman of Asian descent to be nominated for Best Director.

On Instagram, Collins, whose Netflix show Emily in Paris and movie Mank are both nominated (along with a nod for Collins for Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series for the former) reacted to her nomination with a pair of selfies with her dog Redford.

"I tried to share the excitement with @redforddog but maybe it's still too early for him... so honored to be nominated for a Golden Globe!" she wrote. "I'm beaming for both my @emilyinparis family (my first project as a producer!) - and the incredible @mank team. What a wild morning! Ecstatic and grateful doesn't even begin to cut it..."

Cuoco, who was also nominated for Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series for her role in The Flight Attendant, shared two emotional videos of herself reacting to the news, writing, "Thank you @goldenglobes #hfpa I will never ever forget this moment and I can't stop crying ... so proud of my entire team @flightattendantonmax."

Riz Ahmed, nominated for Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama, for his role in Sound of Metal, thanked the Globes on Instagram, shouting out his director, fellow cast and crew, ASL coach, personal trainer, and "those I was privileged to get to know in the Deaf community."

Emma Corrin, who earned a nomination for her debut season of The Crown portraying Princess Diana, wrote, "A real honour to be named amongst a group of such talented and inspirational women! Working on The Crown was the most magical experience in no small part thanks to the incredible cast and crew that supported and help guide me through THANK YOUU ❤️"

Viola Davis, nominated for her performance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, wrote, "Humbled and flattered. Thank you so much to the #HFPA for the @GoldenGlobes nomination! 💛"

Jane Levy, who earned a nod for her role in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, shared, "I am very very very honored! Holy, wow — I'm excited!!!!"

Michelle Pfeiffer, who was recognized for her role in French Exit, said in a statement, "I am honored and grateful to the Hollywood Foreign Press for this recognition. The character of Frances Price began in the imagination of Patrick DeWitt, first appearing in his wonderfully funny and witty novel, and then his brilliant screenplay. Thank you to our incredible cast and crew, who were a dream to work with and I'm marveled by all of you. And most of all, thank you to our director Azazel Jacobs, who masterfully captured the tone and spirit of Frances' story."

The Queen's Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy, who was nominated for her role in the Netflix series as well as for her turn in Emma, shared a video of herself laughing, seemingly speechless. "Pretty fucking wild. THANK YOU for the love HFPA," she wrote."
