Lady Gaga Is Prepping For Her New Job in a Leopard Print Caftan

This is living la dolce vita.

It looks like Lady Gaga is prepping for her latest movie role by going full-on method. The superstar wore a flowing, leopard-print caftan out in Rome, Just Jared reports, ahead of starring in Gucci, Ridley Scott's upcoming flick about one of the first families of Italian fashion. Gaga is playing Patrizia Reggiani, Maurizio Gucci's ex-wife, who was charged with orchestrating his assassination in 1995.

"While most are hunkered down due to the pandemic, Scott is moving like a locomotive. The filmmaker is set to start production in Italy next March on Gucci, the MGM drama that will star Lady Gaga as the murderess Patrizia Reggiani alongside a killer cast including Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Adam Driver, and Jared Leto," Deadline reported back in late 2020.

In addition to the long, flowing caftan (eagle-eyed fans identified it as Celine), Gaga wore sunglasses, a sparkling choker and studded face mask, and carried a blue bag. Her hair is currently a dark brown, a huge shift from the blonde strands she had during her performance at President Joe Biden's inauguration in January. The Daily Mail, which also published photos of Gaga in the very Italian look, noted that she could be in costume as Reggiani, though nothing's been confirmed just yet. More likely, she's just getting into character — and looking very good doing it.
