Lady Gaga was one of Joe Biden's biggest celebrity endorsements during his campaign, and today, she has the honor of singing during his inauguration.
Gaga sang the national anthem, a role that Beyoncé had during President Obama's inauguration. She wore a voluminous red skirt with a black coat embellished with an oversized golden dove brooch and even carried a gold microphone for added effect.
On Instagram on Tuesday, the singer wrote about the event.
"I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans," she said. "A day for love, not hatred. A day for acceptance not fear. A day for dreaming of our future joy as a country. A dream that is non-violent, a dream that provides safety for our souls. Love, from the Capitol."
