Kim and Kourtney Kardashian Wore Matching Tube Tops in a Throwback College Photo
A Y2K sister style moment.
Thanks to the recent reemergence of Y2K fashion, not much has changed style-wise for Kim and Kourtney Kardashian between now and then. Case in point? On Wednesday, Kim took us back to where it all began with a throwback photo of the sisters from their "college years," wearing one of the biggest trends of the early '00s.
"College Years Baby!!!" Kim wrote alongside a snapshot of her and Kourtney dressed in matching black tube tops during a night out at the Poosh founder's alma mater. Kourtney was a student at the University of Arizona from 2000 to 2002 and graduated with a major in theater arts and a minor in Spanish (she attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas her freshman and sophomore years before transferring).
Kim, on the other hand, briefly attended Pierce College in Los Angeles but never graduated.
In the photo, Kourtney paired her tube top with a turquoise beaded necklace, while Kim opted for blush-colored pants. Both sisters wore their long dark hair down and pulled back two tiny strands — a hairstyle that very much defined the times. They also wore matching nude lipstick and smoky eye makeup.
Kim continued in the caption, "University of Arizona single handedly stopped me from turning into a wild party girl. I remember visiting Kourt on campus and being her designated driver. I hated all of the wild parties so much that I stayed home and never wanted to drink or party EVER." She went on to thank the college for making her the woman she is today, adding: "I was never a student there but u shaped my life more than you know 😂."
While Kim rarely drinks, she did open up about her "wild phase" during a 2018 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, revealing she was on ecstasy when she married her first husband Damon Thomas. "I got married on ecstasy. The first time," Kim said on the show. "I did it again, I made a sex tape. Like, everything bad would happen."
"I definitely went through a wild phase, I would say in my late teens," she explained elsewhere on the episode. "I'm not like that anymore. But I still have fun — don't get it twisted, I'm always the life of the party."
