Kim Kardashian Says She Makes More Money on Instagram Than for an Entire Season of KUWTK
Talk about making bank.
In case you were worried, Kim Kardashian will still be a very rich woman once Keeping Up with the Kardashians ends next year. In fact, according to Kim, quitting the reality series won't affect her bank account in the slightest.
During an appearance on My Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman, Kardashian opened up about what's actually paying her bills — and it's not the E! show. However, she did admit that she wouldn't be where she is financially today without it. “We would not be who we are today without Keeping Up With the Kardashians and that’s why we continue to share our lives,” Kim explained. "Even if, realistically, we can post something on social media and make more than we do a whole season.”
While Kim didn't reveal exactly how much she makes for each sponsored Instagram post, it's previously been reported that her fee runs between $300,000 to $500,000, and in some instances, $1 million. As for KUWTK, the famous family's contract is worth tens of millions. In 2015, E! agreed to a deal of $80 million to renew the show, and then the network allegedly paid somewhere "below $100 million" again for several more seasons two years later.
TMZ reports Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé split between 50 and 60 percent of the current contract, while the rest of the family takes what's left. That means Kim is getting about $20 million for the most recent renewal.
Despite the reality show, a makeup line, and a steady stream of cash from sponsored content, Kim's husband Kanye West still has the higher net worth of the two. When asked who makes more between the couple, Kim replied: "Him, probably." She continued, "We’re exactly even [in earnings]. We both are really blessed and do extremely well, and I’m really grateful.”
Kim's full interview with David Letterman drops Oct. 21 on Netflix.
