Kendall Jenner Has Been Relying on this Outfit Formula Since Last March

Ask a fashion lover for the ultimate easy outfit formula and nine times out of 10, they'll say you can't go wrong with a T-shirt and jeans. It's classic, sleek, versatile, and essentially looks great on everyone. But, thanks to Kendall Jenner, it might have some competition.

Looking back at everything the model has worn since March 2021, we've come to realize that she — along with her stylist, Dani Michelle — often sticks to a specific combination of a vest, white top, and basic bottoms. Sometimes she'll go with jeans, other times she'll wear slacks, and in warmer weather, she might skip the shirt and go full shest. But the outfit has clearly become Jenner's uniform of choice, and it's a pretty good one to copy when you're in a jam.

Plus, while vest, shirt, and solid pants might sound somewhat basic, Jenner has shown us it's quite the opposite, especially if you switch up the proportions or opt for brighter colors.

With a Simple White Tee and an Oversized Vest

Back in September 2021, Jenner made the most of the ultimate wardrobe staple by pairing it with a colorful knit vest and beige trouser. She wore a similar combo months later in January 2022 (above), replacing the wine-colored vest with a striped version and slipping on jeans instead of "work pants."

The Super-Preppy Way

In general, vests can be pretty preppy, so it's no surprise that Jenner leaned into this aesthetic, styling a multi-colored option with a crisp white button-down, khaki-green pants, and loafers.

A Puffer Alternative

Not into knits? That's fine — Kendall proved this combination also works with quilted puffer vests. We like how she let her branded 818 Tequila version shine, layering the navy design over a light, monochromatic look, which consisted of a white long-sleeved tee and white jeans. A pair of Converse completed this casual outfit.

The model switched things up in October 2021, wearing a floral, bottom-slit vest sans shirt while sticking with a black-and-white color scheme.
