Katy Perry Shared Her First Postpartum Selfie After Giving Birth to Daughter Daisy
"Hair n makeup by: @exhaustion."
Katy Perry wasn't a part of the VMAs last night, but she perhaps was watching as she gave fans a look into her postpartum life, a few days after she gave birth to her and Orlando Bloom's daughter Daisy.
On Sunday evening, the pop star shared a selfie to her Instagram stories with a VMAs sticker as she stood in her bathroom with a breast pumping bra and disposable postpartum underwear.
She tagged the brands that made her bra and underwear (Medela and Frida Mom, respectively), and jokingly wrote, "Hair n makeup by: @exhaustion."
Last week, Perry and Bloom announced the arrival of their first child together, a girl named Daisy Dove Bloom. The couple shared the news through UNICEF, an organization for which they are both goodwill ambassadors.
"We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” they said in the statement, adding that "we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was."
"Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes," the couple shared. "Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever."⠀
