Katy Perry Put a '70s Twist on the Canadian Tuxedo
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom stepped out for a date night in New York City on Thursday — and in a completely unsurprising turn of events, the couple picked celebrity hot spot Carbone as their restaurant of choice.
For the occasion, the singer opted for an inspired '70s take on the Canadian tuxedo in a matching tan denim long coat and flared pant set from Maison Margiela, which she paired with a crisp white shirt and mini handbag.
She completed the look with on-theme brown square-toed booties and large drop hoop earrings. Even her jet black hair fit the bill and was worn long with a slight wave, nostalgic to the disco era.
For his part, Orlando also chose a monochromatic look that consisted of dark blue jeans and a matching snap-up shirt which he wore under an oversized windbreaker of the same hue. The actor completed the look with burnt rust colored loafers that matching his fiancée's outfit.
The duo's Big Apple date night comes two days before Katy's SNL appearance. The singer is set to be the musical guest alongside host Willem Dafoe.
The power couple got engaged in 2019 after four years of dating, and in August 2020, welcomed their daughter Daisy. The new mom recently told Access Hollywood that their daughter has attributes from both her parents. "She has kind of a combination of Orlando's brows and my eyeballs but she now does all these like, big eyes… Everything is so new. It's so beautiful,"
