Kate Middleton Paired a Statement Coat with a Matching Sweater

Prince William called the coat "too bright."

As we head into the fall season, Kate Middleton is officially back on royal duty, and her latest outfit is proof she's here to make a splash.

The Duchess of Cambridge joined Prince William at Kew Gardens on Wednesday to take part in a Generation Earthshot event with The Heathland School. The duchess re-wore a bold green Erdem coat she once wore in 2014, paired with a matching short-sleeved sweater, black wide-legged trousers, and pointed-toe pumps.

Kate first wore the coat during her 2014 tour of New Zealand with Prince William, who, according to the duchess, wasn't that big a fan of the Erdem piece.

Bev Hayes, a well-wisher who met Kate during the visit, previously told People, "I complimented her on her green dress. She said she liked it but Prince William thought it was a bit bright."

Speak for yourself, Wills.

People reports that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent Wednesday helping students come up with plans to save the natural world and help repair the planet.

"Education is such an important part of protecting our planet," the couple shared in a statement. "We must inspire in the next generation the optimism, confidence and enthusiasm to chase those solutions and to continue building a more sustainable future."
