Kate Middleton and Prince William Shared Their 2021 Family Christmas Card

It's the most wonderful time of the year … There be parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting, and royals posing on seemingly out-of-place props somewhere in Jordan.

On Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a family portrait that will be used for their annual Christmas card. The image, taken on a trip to Jordan, shows Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3 gathered before a rocky background, seated on a variety of artifacts we would not expect to find in said environment: a fur rug, upholstered chairs, and a gilded stool.

Middleton wears an olive green button-front maxi dress in the photo, her loose curls flowing down her chest in a variation on her typical polished blowout. By the duchess's side sits Prince William, clad in an uncharacteristically casual outfit: a brown polo, loafers, and cargo shorts. The Cambridges' youngest two, Charlotte and Louis, subtly coordinated in navy Maisonette sneakers.

The portrait is certainly an aesthetic departure from last year's iteration, the theme of which was ostensibly "sweaters." The whole fam posted on a hay bale before a pile of logs, each Cambridge posing in a sweater and pants.
