Kate Middleton Watched a Rugby Game in the Chicest Blazer

She was joined by Prince William and their eldest child, Prince George, at Twickenham Stadium.

If there's anything that Kate Middleton loves more than her collection of coats (and coat-dress hybrids), it's a good blazer.

Earlier this week, she kicked off her solo tour of Denmark in a red tweed one from Zara, and in the fall, a tailored jacket was essentially her wardrobe's workhorse. And now that the weather is warming up again, she's bringing the blazer back into rotation. For a weekend outing with her husband Prince William and son Prince George, the Duchess of Cambridge proved the garment's versatility during the Guinness Six Nations rugby match between England and Wales at Twickenham Stadium.

At the game, Kate was the chicest spectator in a classic black and white houndstooth blazer paired with an equally polished turtleneck, black cropped trousers, and matching suede pumps. Her double-breasted jacket featured gold buttons down the front and on the cuffs, and fit her like a glove. For a sporty touch, she accessorized with a red and blue England Rugby scarf.

While Kate showed her support for England, William, who has been patron of the Welsh Rugby Union since 2016, was rooting for Wales. Meanwhile, George just seemed happy to watch the action live from the field.

Kate recently took over as patron of the Rugby Football League and the Rugby Football Union — two roles that previously belonged to Prince Harry before he and wife Meghan Markle stepped back as working royals. Earlier this month, Kate made her debut as the new patron meeting with England players, coaches, and referees from the men's and women's squads as they prepared for today's game. For the occasion, she showed off her training skills in a black tracksuit that consisted of a quarter-zip pullover and sweatpants, both embroidered with a red rose — the union's logo.
