Kate Middleton and Prince William Had a Matching Family Moment with George, Charlotte, and Louis

Over the years, Princess Charlotte has twinned with her mom, Kate Middleton, and Prince George and little brother Prince Louis have worn outfits nearly identical to dad Prince William, but rarely is the entire Cambridge family in sartorial sync — save for their annual Christmas card. So, it came as a welcome surprise on Saturday when Will and Kate posted several snaps of the five royals matching in all-blue ensembles.

Earlier this week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hosted very special guest, Sir David Attenborough, at Kensington Palace for a private outdoor screening of the famous conservationist's latest film, A Life On Our Planet. For the occasion, Kate wore a chambray dress that matched the fabric of Charlotte's sneakers, while Will and the Louis both wore sweaters with blue button-downs underneath, which expertly coordinated with George's gingham shirt.

In photos posted to the Cambridge's Instagram account, the matching family moment is documented in one picture of them greeting Attenborough — much to Charlotte's delight, as she put her hands around her face while looking directly at the filmmaker.

In the second image, George, who is a big fan of Attenborough, studied a giant shark tooth that he was gifted by the naturalist. According to the Palace, "Sir David found the tooth on a family holiday to Malta in the late 1960s, embedded in the island's soft yellow limestone which was laid down during the Miocene period some 23 million years ago."

Sir David has been a friend of the royal family's for quite some time. In 1985, he was knighted by the Queen for his conservation work, after being granted a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) a decade earlier. Meanwhile, in 2019, the 94-year-old and William — who have a shared interest in protecting the environment for the next generation — appeared at the Davos conference together to speak about the climate crisis.
