Jennifer Lopez and Her Mother Sang 'Sweet Caroline' Together at the Vax Live Concert
Jennifer Lopez sure knows how to re-unite the world. After all, nothing brings people together more than singing "Sweet Caroline."
At the VAX LIVE: Concert to Reunite the World, the singer and actress took to the stage at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, in a sparkling nude and silver jumpsuit to encourage the audience to join in the fight of getting everyone around the world access to the vaccine.
She was joined by her mother Guadalupe Rodriguez — whom J.Lo revealed to be fully vaccinated — on stage and asked her to sing the lullaby she used to sing to her as a young girl: Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline," replaced with "Jennifer."
"Lets sing it like a lullaby, and let's help her out," Lopez asked the audience, before requesting that her mom "sing it like you used to sing it to me."
Later in the concert, Lopez performed her hit single "Ain't Your Mama," where she and back up dancers brought the house down.
Prince Harry, who co-chaired the event with his wife Meghan Markle made an impassioned speech encouraging everyone to receive the vaccine before receiving a standing ovation from the crow.
"None of us should be comfortable thinking that we could be fine when so many others are suffering," the Duke of Sussex said. "In reality, and especially with this pandemic, when any suffer, we all suffer. We must look beyond ourselves with empathy and compassion for those we know, and those we don't. We need to lift up all of humanity and make sure that no person or community is left behind. What we do in this moment will stand in history and tonight, we stand in solidarity with the millions of families across India who are battling a devastating second wave."
