Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Just Made Their Red Carpet Debut

No matter how many trips to Nobu Malibu there are, how many yacht photos, how many Cartier throwbacks and mall visits, it's not real — at least in the world of celebrities — until there's a red carpet involved. And while nobody needed confirmation that Bennifer 2.0 was very much a real thing, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck walked the red carpet hand-in-hand at the Venice International Film Festival to celebrate the premiere of his latest movie, The Last Duel.

For the big night, Affleck wore a traditional tailored black tuxedo while Lopez opted to up the glam quotient (tough to do when she attended a fashion show with hail and thunder just last week) in an all-white Georges Hobeika Fall 2021 couture dress with a ruffled hem, high slit, and deep-V neckline embellished with Gobstopper-sized crystals. She finished the look with platform sandals, an embellished box clutch in lieu of her typical bedazzled water cup, and a chunky diamond Cartier bracelet.

The last time the two stepped onto a red carpet together was back in July 2003 at the premiere of Gigli — and they were engaged that time around. That film may have bombed and the two would separate a few months later, but it gave the world the original Bennifer and now, everyone has a brand-new take on the couple that defined celebrity name mashups.

Matt Damon, Affleck's best friend and Last Duel co-star, said that he was "so happy" for his pal, adding, "I love them both."
