Everything You Missed at InStyle and Warner Bros.'s Annual Golden Globes After Party

The fashion is just the beginning.

After a night of tear jerkers (see: Tom Hanks’s emotional acceptance speech), major fashion risks that paid off (Kerry Washington’s jaw-dropping Altuzarra number, Gwyneth Paltrow’s sheer booty-baring Fendi dress, etc.), and more at Sunday night’s Golden Globes, it was time to let loose, grab a treat by Lady M Cake Boutique, and party the night away at the 21st annual InStyle and Warner Bros. HFPA party, sponsored by Secret Deodorant, Cadillac, and L’Oreal Paris, and decorated by Jowy Productions.

Just a few steps away from the ceremony inside the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif., Washington, Margot Robbie, Yara Shahidi, Helen Mirren, and more of your faves made their way inside the invite-only bash for a night of mixing, mingling, and dancing, thanks to DJ Michele Pesce, who kept everyone on their feet and throwing up their hands until the very last song of the night.

And as if the fashion highlights on the Globes carpet weren’t enough, they continued at the after party, with many ditching their gowns for chic cocktail ensembles. Laverne Cox, for example, slayed in not one, but two looks, rocking a statement-making neon orange Michael Cinco gown on the carpet, and then doing a quick change moments later into a black suit before heading inside. “This is just for InStyle,” the former Orange Is the New Black star said before giving her platinum blonde bob a flip.

“It's the place that everybody kind of wants to be,” Kathryn Newton, who twirled around the carpet in a dreamy, floral-embellished Valentino gown, told InStyle. "To get to be here is an honor, just to be in the room is really cool. I mean, last year I saw Lady Gaga, you know what I mean?” she added with a laugh. “Like, we made eye contact.”

Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen made it a couples’ night out, as did Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello, and Patricia Arquette (who palmed her Globes trophy as she hit the party) and her boyfriend Eric White.

And although Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa were also on hand, Bonet called it a family night, since her daughter Zoë Kravitz was right there with them. “It’s a family moment,” Bonet said, before Kravitz grabbed her hand and said "I love you." Bonet went on, “Everyone's away in the world working, so it's so nice to be together.”

Inside, several dance parties broke out around the room, with Paris Hilton throwing up her hands, tossing back her hair, and dancing like no one was watching, and Kate Beckinsale enjoying a girls’ night out as she shook her hips with her friend at the bar to French Montana’s “Pop That” as they waited for their drinks.

Shailene Woodley had a party of her own on the carpet, and danced her way into the bash in a sparkly beaded blue and black Balmain gown. “I love that it was custom made by Olivier [Rousteing] himself and Balmain for my body,” she said about her dress, before telling us that her theme song for the night would be “anything from a Studio 54 playlist.”

“I mean, I'm already dancing,” she said, when asked about the vibe of the annual party. “It's in my bones. It's in my blood.”

Tiffany Haddish, meanwhile, sang us her theme song for the night, saying, it was “one I made up for myself.” She went on to sing, “Tonight's the night! Tonight is your night sis! You're gonna dance tonight sis! You're gonna look so good tonight sis! All the men are gonna be on you ‘cause tonight, tonight, tonight is your night sis!” She then belted out a high note, laughed, and headed into the party.

Before the night was over, Yara Shahidi, who stunned in a Carolina Herrara yellow dress that had a secret detail (“my train has a hook,” she told us before hooking it on her thumb and extending her arm) and more hit the L’Oreal photo booth, while others grabbed a caffeine boost at the espresso bar, and Erika Christensen and more gave their feet a break by grabbing a pair of flip flops at the Secret Deodorant booth on the way home.

And, of course, no Globes night would be complete without a toast. Kate Bosworth and Sophia Bush, who hung out together throughout the night, were ready to celebrate a new year and new beginnings. “[I’m toasting to] a new decade. The decade of the lady perhaps,” Bush said. “I’m ready for 2020,” Bosworth chimed in.
