During an appearance on the YouTube show Hot Ones, Barrymore confirmed rumors that her grandpa's body was stolen from the morgue by W.C. Fields, Errol Flynn, and Sadakichi Hartmann so that they could throw one last party with him in attendance, propping his cadaver against a poker table. "Not only yes, but there have been cinematic interpretations of that," she replied to host Sean Evans's question. "A Blake Edwards film called S.O.B. that’s just brilliant and fun to watch." As for her grandfather being the inspiration for Weekend At Bernie's, Barrymore said, "I've heard things, but I can't know ever if that's even true."
