Earlier this week, when photographers asked Lizzo if she plans on collaborating with Lovato at the upcoming Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans, the paparazzo misgendered Lovato and Lizzo quickly corrected them, showing that while it will understandably take some time for everyone to use Lovato's preferred pronouns, it's also important to remind people that misgendering is never OK. In a clip posted by a Lovato fan account, Lizzo can be heard correcting the paparazzo after he uses Lovato's former pronouns. They came out as non-binary in May 2020 on an episode of their podcast, 4D With Demi, telling fans that moving forward, they would be using they/them pronouns. "They," Lizzo told the photographer in the clip. Unfortunately, they disregarded her comment, saying, "Have your team contact her team?" "Their team," Lizzo clarified. "Demi goes by they." Lizzo Just Wore a Corset with Her Face On It Lovato also shared the clip on their Instagram Story, thanking Lizzo for her support and rightfully calling her a queen. "@lizzobeeating you fucking queen I love you 😘 thank you 🥺🙏," Lovato added to the video.
