Demi Lovato hasn’t had an easy week, but “music is always there” for her.

Lovato dropped a new single on Wednesday, less than a week after news broke that she and fiancé Max Ehrich had called off their engagement. Though “Still Have Me” was reportedly in the works long before Lovato began dating Ehrich in March, the timing of the drop combined with lyrics feels telling.

“I’m a mess and I’m still broken / But I’m finding my way back / And it feels like someone’s stolen / All the light I ever had,” she sings on the track.

A source recently shed some light on Lovato and Ehrich’s split, telling People that the singer grew suspicious that her actor fiancé was ″trying to further his career by using her name behind her back.″

"It was very hurtful to Demi when she realized that Max's intentions weren't genuine,” a separate source told the outlet. "Breaking off the engagement was not an easy decision.”

Ehrich and Lovato got engaged in July, just four months after they began dating at the beginning of the pandemic.
