Dakota Johnson Played With Proportions in an Oversized Suit Jacket and Tailored Pants

A new lesson in suit dressing.

Dakota Johnson's red carpet reign continues ...

At a screening for her new movie The Lost Daughter, directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, Johnson wore a gray suit that proved the power of mixing proportions.

For the event, Johnson chose a suit that played with the rules of sizing, pairing a majorly oversized jacket with matching tailored pleated pants. A strappy black undershirt peeked out through the untied jacket and she accessorized with a dainty charm necklace and a couple of statement rings. The actress kept her shoe selection simple with a pair of black, pointy-toed pumps.

The Fifty Shades star's long tresses were worn straight accompanied by her signature fringe, and she kept her glam clean and natural with rosy cheeks and eyes and a pink lip.

Johnson was joined at the screening by her co-star Paul Mescal and Gyllenhaal, who won the Golden Osella Award for Best Screenplay at the Venice International Film Festival earlier this year. The film, which also stars Olivia Coleman, has been met with overwhelmingly positive reviews and will make its global debut on Netflix on Dec. 31.

While we've grown accustomed to seeing the star take on the red carpet in lingerie, she certainly has been making a case for suit dressing. Johnson recently opted for a jacket and trouser combo at a luncheon for the same film. She kept that look pared down for daytime with Gucci loafers.
