Ever since she first 1,2 stepped her way onto the music scene, there’s been a universal consensus that Ciara can make anything look sexy. Whether she’s showing off her impressive dance moves in a steamy music video or rocking a dangerously high slit on the red carpet, it’s clear that the 33-year-old R&B queen knows exactly how to get — and keep — our attention.

A huge part of that, of course, is her attitude. Ciara exudes confidence at all times, and that self-assured spirit comes through in her style choices, too. For our April issue, we asked our cover star to spill on her current fashion faves. She told us that she turns to labels like Saint Laurent, Balmain, and Versace for special occasions, often pairing her glamorous look with a “classic strappy heel” from Gianvito Rossi or Stuart Weitzman (the popular Nudist style is her go-to). When she’s feeling a bit more daring, Ciara spices up her footwear game with bold statement shoes. And really, you can never go wrong with some thigh-high leopard-print boots.

It’s not all sky-high heels and expensive designer goodies, though; Ciara’s everyday style is downright relatable. Her tried-and-true essentials include “a hoodie and Uggs — especially after a long day or when I’m traveling,” said Ciara, who’s mom to son Future, 4, and daughter Sienna, 2. She also prefers sweats for a workout, opting for a “good fitted hoodie or long-sleeve fitted tee,” paired with “leggings that hold your tummy in.” When it comes to handbags, Ciara also takes a practical approach. “You must have a purse or baby bag that’s dual-purpose,” she said. “That way you don’t have your hands full when you’re with your kids.”
