"To me, it is an honor," Kate once said of looking like her famous mom. "She's the epitome of beauty: She's beautiful aesthetically, but she is a beautiful mother too." 02 of 20 Gwyneth Paltrow and Blythe Danner Jason Merritt/WireImage Gwyneth Paltrow grew up in a Hollywood household-her dad, Bruce Paltrow, was a well-known director; mom Blythe Danner is an Emmy and Tony award-winning actress-so it's no wonder Paltrow became an Oscar-winning movie star. Mother and daughter have acted together once, in the British film Sylvia. 03 of 20 Hilary and Chelsea Clinton Humberto Carreno/startraksphoto Strong women seem to run in the family! After growing up in the White House, Chelsea has followed in her mother's footsteps as a policy advocate. As the vice-chair of the Clinton Foundation and Clinton Health, she certainly has her hands full, but we can't count out a run for office in the future! 04 of 20 Beyonce and Tina Knowles Kevin Mazur/WireImage Raised in a tight-knit family, Beyoncé and her sister Solange grew up hanging around mom Tina's hair salon in Texas before embarking on their mega-careers. "My mom let me and my sister express our own style, which gave us a lot of confidence," Beyonce told InStyle in our November 2008 issue. 05 of 20 Lisa Bonet and Zoe Kravitz Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images Actress Lisa Bonet's daughter Zoe Kravitz (her father is musician and actor Lenny Kravitz) chose to follow in her mother's footsteps, taking on roles in blockbusters such as Divergent and X-Men: First Class. 06 of 20 Kate, Pippa, and Carole Middleton Frank May/DPA/LANDOV What a trio of beautiful ladies! Kate Middleton and her sister Pippa have learned a lot from mom Carole, who continues to be a big part of their lives. 07 of 20 Madonna and Lourdes Leon Jeff Vespa/VF11/WireImage Madonna's first child Lourdes Leon definitely takes after mom! The 17-year-old has already dabbled in fashion, starting Material Girl, a clothing line she creates with her mother. 08 of 20 Kyra Sedgwick and Sosie Bacon Lester Cohen/WireImage Kyra Sedgwick largely kept her children out of the spotlight, but it seems that acting is in daughter Sosie Bacon's blood! She's taken on a few small roles so far, and this year she had the honor of being Miss Golden Globe. 09 of 20 Meryl Streep and Mamie Gummer MCMULLAN CO/SIPA Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep (pictured here with two of her three daughters) has worked hard to keep her children out of the spotlight, but in spite of that, her eldest daughter Mamie Gummer (at right) has decided to tread the boards too. She's already worked with Streep-they both appeared in Evening, in which Gummer played Streep's character as a girl. 10 of 20 Nicky, Kathy, and Paris Hilton J. Vespa/WireImage Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton obviously inherited the entrepreneurial gene from their hotelier parents: both women have their own fashion lines and Paris has her own perfume. 11 of 20 Kelly and Sharon Osbourne Bridow/WENN The Osbourne family-once infamous for their rock and roll ways-have dialed things down as of late. Sharon Osbourne hosts the daytime show The Talk, while daughter Kelly is part of E!'s Fashion Police team. 12 of 20 Tracee Ellis Ross and Diana Ross Kathy Hutchins/Hutchins Photo Agency Singing superstar Diana Ross is a tough act to follow-so perhaps it's just as well her daughter Tracee Ellis Ross chose to be an actress, starring in TV shows like CSI and Private Practice. "I've just been very blessed," Diana once said of her five children. "I've been very blessed with these children." 13 of 20 Dakota Johnson and Melanie Griffith AKM-GSI Melanie Griffith 's daughter Dakota Johnson (her father is actor Don Johnson) followed family tradition by becoming an actress: her grandmother, Tippi Hedren, was one of Hitchcock's cool blondes who starred in Marnie and The Birds. Johnson, up next in 50 Shades of Grey, was Miss Golden Globe in 2006, just like mom was in 1975. 14 of 20 Rumer Willis and Demi Moore Juan Rico/Fame Demi Moore is the mother of three teenage girls (all fathered by actor Bruce Willis). Her eldest, 19-year-old Rumer Willis, has already made a foray into acting, appearing in a handful of television shows and movies, and she has her mom to thank for the decent wage-Moore was one of the first actresses to earn $10 million for a movie role. 15 of 20 Schuyler Fisk and Sissy Spacek Gregg DeGuire/FilmMagic Actress Sissy Spacek chose to raise her two children in Virginia rather than Hollywood. It didn't stop them from following her into show business though: Daughter Schuyler Fisk is a singer/songwriter who has appeared in One Tree Hill and Law & Order, and Madison, Spacek's other daughter, is an actress and cinematographer. 16 of 20 Isabella Rossellini & Elettra Fernando Leon/Getty Images Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann has an excellent pedigree: the Lancome model's mom is actress and model Isabella Rossellini (once the face of Lancome too), and her grandmother-Isabella's mother-was movie star Ingrid Bergman. So what's it's like to have a famous mother? "She's just like anyone else's mum!" Rossellini Wiedemann has said. 17 of 20 Diane Ladd and Laura Dern Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic Laura Dern spent her childhood hanging out on movie sets-her mom, actress Diane Ladd, had roles in classics such as Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore and Chinatown-so it's not surprising she grew up to become an actress. 18 of 20 Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri Jim Smeal/BEImages Susan Sarandon has three children but so far only daughter Eva Amurri (her father is Italian filmmaker Franco Amurri) has ventured into her parents' profession. 19 of 20 Chynna and Michelle Phillips Giulio Marcocchi/Sipa Press Apparently the apple doesn't fall far from the tree in the Phillips family. Singer and actress Michelle Phillips was a member of '60s folk group The Mamas and the Papas; her daughter Chynna Phillips was a member of '90s girl-band Wilson Phillips. 20 of 20 Ashley, Wynonna and Naomi Judd Alexx Henry/Hallmark Channel The Judd women are nothing if not talented. Matriach Naomi and daughter Wynonna are a country-singing sensation, and Ashley Judd is a renowned Hollywood actress. "I was always told I was special," Ashley has said of growing up with her mom and sister. "And I was also assured that I had a gift and a purpose." Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback!
