At the 2008 SAG Awards, Jolie wore a vintage Hermes dress in ombre, one of the season's hottest trends. The loose, flowy strapless dress was enough to set tongues wagging about a possible pregnancy.
The Jolie-Pitts arrived at the Santa Barbara International Film Fest, where the mom-to-be was given an Outstanding Performance Award for her role in A Mighty Heart. She wore an ensemble by the Italian fashion line Malo.
Out and about with her oldest son, six-year-old Maddox (not pictured), Jolie wore a white trench and her favored black ballet flats. Maddox "changed everything, but in the most wonderful way," Jolie has said of her son (and the first child she adopted). "Everything that should matter, matters. He's absolutely the center of my life."
Although she had yet to confirm her pregnancy, Jolie's baby bump was obvious at the Film Independent Spirit Awards in February. The actress wore a Western Costume vintage dress, and had her best accessory-partner Brad Pitt-on her arm. "We're legally bound to our children, not to each other," Jolie has said of her relationship with Pitt. "I think that's the important thing."
A pretty pink Gerard Darel dress gave Jolie room to move at Austin airport in March. "Angelina has worn all our dresses with a natural ease," Gerard Darel says. "[The maxidress] is an effortless piece, and the dress accentuates her femininity, through the cut and soft colors."
Jolie joined 600 volunteers working to help a New Orleans community still struggling to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Her patterned maxidress, which was stylish but cool and casual, is representative of her maternity style, Jolie's stylist Jen Rade told People, saying the look is "soft, sexy, and romantic."
With the kids-Maddox, Zahara, Pax and Shiloh-in tow, Jolie ventured out to the local store in New Orleans in a gray Rachel Pally maxidress. Jolie has called her first pregnancy with Shiloh a learning experience. "I was sure everything was going to go right, but at the last minute I became the mom who was sure everything was going to go wrong," the 32-year-old has said. "[But] she was healthy and it was amazing."
Since falling pregnant with her fifth child, Angelina Jolie has been seen in an array of empire-waist maxidresses. This one, which the actress wore to the Vital Voices Global Leadership Awards in Washington D.C., was made by Reem Acra. "My life is very full," Jolie said of her most important role-mother-in 2006. "I'm very proud when I see my children...I'm very lucky."
Jolie covered up while out and about in Washington D.C. on April 10th in a floor-length dress and classic black trench. Two days earlier, while taking part in a panel discussion about education in Iraq at the Council on Foreign Relations, Jolie felt the baby kicking. "It's a very special time in our lives," she said.
The star of the upcoming film Wanted chose a taxicab-yellow Catherine Malandrino dress, shades, and a cream Anya Hindmarch bag for a lunch date in Beverly Hills. "Angie's style shows that you can be comfortable yet still feminine and sexy! You don't have to sacrifice comfort for style," her stylist Jen Rade told People recently.
