The superstar has been focusing on other things, like having a baby, Raddix, and launching her own line of wine. And although she's not in the Hollywood hustle anymore, she doesn't have a problem talking to her famous pals. During an appearance on Gwyneth Paltrow's In Goop Health, Diaz addressed questions about stepping away from her acting career, saying that the career move brought her "peace." "What did it feel like to walk away from a movie career of that magnitude?" Paltrow asked. "Like peace. A peace in my soul because I was finally taking care of myself," Diaz said. Plus, she said that being in the public eye was something she wouldn't miss. "I stopped and really looked at my life," she said. "When you’re making a movie [...] they own you. You’re there for 12 hours a day for months on end you have no time for anything else." Speaking to Paltrow allowed her to really open up, since the two were dealing with the same issues. Diaz also mentioned that she's "sensitive to some energies" and that made it difficult for her, since it could be overwhelming if she was working. "It’s a strange thing to say, I know a lot of people won’t understand it, I know you understand it, but it was so intense to work at that level and be that public and put yourself out there," Diaz added. "There’s a lot of energy coming at you at all times when you’re really visible as an actor and doing press and putting yourself out there." Cameron Diaz Opened Up About Parenting in Quarantine Taking the time off and focusing on herself was something that she'd lost, she explained. Having that back — which she called a responsibility for herself — made her feel like she was getting her life back. "I realized I handed off parts of my life to all these other people. I had to basically take it back and take responsibility for my own life," she said. "I had been going so hard for so long, working, making films, such a grind. I didn't make any space for my personal life."
