Britney Spears's Boyfriend Sam Asghari Says He's Ready to Take the "Next Step" in Their Relationship
After more than four years of dating, Britney Spears's boyfriend Sam Asghari is ready to take "the next step" in his relationship with the pop star. In a new interview with Forbes, the fitness trainer revealed that he sees fatherhood in his future, and wants to start a family sooner rather than later.
"My priorities in life are to remain humble and understand where I came from and where I'm going," he told the magazine, before adding: "I want to take my career to the next step when it comes to acting. I want to take my relationship to the next step, as well. I don't mind becoming a father. I want to be a young dad."
The 27-year-old also detailed how he met Spears in 2016 on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video — a gig that he almost passed on. "I wanted to do TV, I wanted to do film," he said of his hesitation to book the job. "My acting strategy was kind of to go away from music videos. I didn't want to do more and be known as a music video actor, but a good friend of mine was working on a project and they referred me to the team that was picking out the leading role for 'Slumber Party.'"
He added, "My girlfriend now at the time, personally she picked my picture and she wanted me to be cast in the music video. My friend called me and said, 'I need you to be on it. Trust me, you want to show up.'" And the rest, as they say, is history.
Earlier this week, a source told Us Weekly that "Sam would love to start a family with Britney." According to the insider, he has "always dreamt of having children and thinks he would be a great father." Spears is already a mom to sons — Preston, 15, and Jayden, 14 — who she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
