Bella Hadid Channels a Sexy Vampire in a Cutout Dress for Self-Portrait's New Campaign
By now, you likely know that Bella Hadid and cutout clothing go together like peanut butter and jelly. We've gotten to the point where we think of the model each time we spot a hole-punched dress — so it makes total sense that Self-Portrait would tap her for its latest campaign.
In the mix of these Spring/Summer 2022 pieces are items we have no doubt Hadid would have in her actual wardrobe, from tight, ruched designs to a pink ovary-cutout skirt. And perhaps we just have Halloween on the brain, but combined with those long nails, light makeup, and wet hair, the model is giving us vampire vibes in her semi-sheer black dress — especially once you see the exclusive behind-the-scenes shot that was shared with InStyle.
Umm ... we love it!
In reality, the goal of this group of photos was to have Hadid play a variety of different characters — a challenge that this pro no doubt nailed.
"We have spent so much time with ourselves over the last few years, which has made everyone very reflective but also very pensive about the future," Han Chong, Self-Portrait's founder and creative director, explains to InStyle via email, speaking about the inspiration behind the collection and accompanying campaign. "I've been thinking a lot about this, and about transformation and evolution. This was the starting point to this collection and to my conversations with the team for the preview of the collection. We really wanted to capture the different sides and expressions of the Self-Portrait woman, and I knew Bella Hadid, who is the most incredible chameleon would be the perfect woman to bring these characters to life."
Aside from that sexy black dress, Hadid also shows off her softer, more emotional side while tearfully posing in a fancy cardigan — another piece that has been a long-standing staple in the model's real-life wardrobe.
We fully predict Hadid will be taking a few of these fun, skin-baring pieces out for a spin sometimes soon. They suit her go-to style — and, maybe later, Dua Lipa can borrow them!
