A new take on low rise.

As the fashion world braces itself for the return of low-rise pants, Bella Hadid is blasting past dipping her Jaquemus-clad toes into the trend and diving right into finding new ways to show off peeks of unexpected skin.

Hadid wore pants with hip cutouts during an outing in Paris, with intricate panels meeting up with O-shaped hardware right under her belly button. She paired the questionable and perhaps physics-defying tailoring with a lace-trimmed camisole, throwback sunglasses, pointy shoes, and a Fendi baguette bag.

Pelvic cutouts may be the next step as models embrace the low-rise pants that dominated the '00s. While the original iteration was most often denim (see: Mariah Carey's cutoff waistband in her "Heartbreaker" music video and just about every Britney Spears outfit, ever), the latest take on the trend seems to be about tailoring, cargo pants, and loose, flowing shapes.

And as for cutouts, denim brands have been offering very similar cutouts and, of course, Gen Z is already embracing the sexed-up trend and making it trend on TikTok and Instagram.

As for Hadid, the eye-catching pants are a clear 180 from some of her recent outfits, which have been decidedly low-key, with pieces from The Row, monochromatic knits and oversized coats, and very affordable handbags — when she's not off flashing her bra and thong, that is.
