Armie Hammer Appeared to Hint at Blake Lively Beef in Recovered Interview
The actor said his Gossip Girl arc was cut short because it was "a tough show to film."
Gossip Girl ended in 2012, but, naturally (literally re-read the show's name), the drama lives on to this very day.
Now that Armie Hammer is under the global magnifying glass following allegations of sexual abuse from several women, the internet is dredging up some choice moments from the actor's past.
Before Hammer was a household name (back when he was appearing in seminal films like Spring Breakdown as "Abercrombie Boy"), the actor had a 4-episode guest arc on The CW's beloved teen drama. Hammer played Gabriel Edwards, a con-man who briefly dated Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively).
In 2017, years after Hammer's Gossip Girl stint, he went on Watch What Happens Live alongside fellow guest Chelsea Handler. During the After Show segment, an audience member asked the actor to name "the biggest diva on set."
"Let me just say that was a tough show to film and I didn't end up actually filming all of the episodes I was supposed to because it was [so tough]," Hammer explained.
"Oh really? So you were like, 'Get me out of this?'" Host Andy Cohen asked.
"It was also like 'Get him out of here,'" Hammer clarified.
The Call Me By Your Name star noted that he was Lively's love interest on the show, to which Handler remarked, "Sounds like she was the problem."
Hammer laughed and said, "No, no, that's not what I'm saying," but a beat later the actor directed a pointed eyebrow raise in Handler's direction.
If only the impeccably curated walls of Serena's penthouse could talk … Kristen Bell, got anything?
