Anna Kendrick Called Filming 'Twilight' "Miserable"

She compared it to surviving a "hostage situation."

Jessica Stanley may not be the most memorable character from the Twilight saga, but for Anna Kendrick, who played her for all four of the franchise's films, won't ever forget the process of creating the beloved series. In a new video for Vanity Fair, Kendrick walks fans through her whole film career, but it's the gems from the Twilight set that'll have fans rethinking that move to Forks, Washington. Thanks to the wet weather, Kendrick's most vivid memories seem to involve the less-than-ideal filming conditions.

"I just remember my Converse being completely soaked through and feeling like, 'You know, this is a really great group of people and I'm sure that we would be friends at a different time, but I want to murder everyone," Kendrick said in the clip.

Misery breeds company, they say, and Kendrick confirmed it, saying that if things weren't so damp, the whole gang — the movie starred Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, of course — would probably have been super best friends. Instead, Kendrick said, they bonded over shared suffering.

"Although it was also kind of bonding," Kendrick added. "There was like something about it, like you go through some trauma event, like you imagine people who survive like a hostage situation, and you're kind of bonded for life."

And being that it's graduation season, many fans will recall Stanley's valedictorian speech. Kendrick explains that while people have told her just how moving the speech was, it wasn't her. She insists that viewers are actually getting all their feels from Stewart's reaction. She's the one that sells the moment, Kendrick says.

"The thing that is happening is you are looking at Kristen Stewart's reaction to that speech and that is the thing that is moving you," Kendrick explained. "Because I was like, 'I did alright,' but I was just kind of like, 'I dunno I'm reading the speech,' and then it cuts to Kristen. She's so moved because she's so talented. People are like, 'That speech is so amazing,' and I'm like, 'No it's just her, she's great.'"
