It Sounds Like Angelina Jolie Isn't Ruling Out Running for President

Angelina Jolie seems like a natural pick for a presidential candidate. She's a humanitarian, activist, and even coined a new political term, called "narrow nationalism" — where people believe their own issues are the only ones that matter.

And it seems like the actress is softening up to the idea of becoming president in the future. During an interview with BBC Radio 4's Today on Friday, Jolie spoke about US politics and if she would ever consider getting involved.

Surprisingly, her response wasn't a straight-up no. “Honestly, if you asked me 20 years ago, I would’ve laughed,” Jolie revealed. “I really don’t know. I always say I’ll go where I’m needed. I don’t know if I’m fit for politics… but then I’ve also joked that I don’t know if I have a skeleton left in my closet, so I’m pretty open and out there. I can take a lot on the chin, so that’s good.”

“I honestly will do whatever I think can really make change,” she added.

So, is that a yes? Well, not exactly.

She continued: “Right now, I am able to work with a UN agency that is the most in the field of all the UN agencies, to do a lot of work directly with the people in need. I’m also able to work with governments and I’m also able to work with militaries, and so I sit in a very interesting place of being able to get a lot done without a title and without it being about myself or my policies. So, for now, I’ll sit quiet.”

Alright, so maybe not for 2020, but perhaps it's a possibility. When host Justin Webb pressed her to see if he could add her to the list of candidates for the Democratic ticket, Jolie laughed and said, "Thank you."
