Amal Clooney Channeled Jackie Kennedy in a Coordinating Plaid Coat and Shift Dress

All that’s missing is a matching pillbox hat.

If Amal Clooney has a style icon, it wouldn't be a stretch to presume that it's former first lady Jackie Kennedy. Between the skirt suits, classic shift dresses, and proclivity for monochrome dressing, the lawyer has essentially brought the late figure's signature style into the 21st century.

Her most recent ensemble was no exception. Clooney stepped out in Washington D.C. on Tuesday wearing a coordinating look that seemed as though it was plucked directly from Kennedy's wardrobe. The mother of two paired a double-breasted beige and yellow plaid coat with an off-white shift dress, a matching Roger Vivier Pilgrim de Jour purse (hefty enough to house a legal brief or two), and a set of beige pumps.

Clooney and her actor-director husband, George, made a rare public appearance last week at the London Film Festival premiere of the Oscar-winner's upcoming film, The Tender Bar. Once again, the celebrated lawyer opted for a classic Hollywood style, pairing a sequined strapless column gown with a surprisingly subtle feathered boa. *Adds to vision board.*
