Mila Kunis
Mila's no stranger to sex scenes, but that doesn't make the process any easier. “It’s hard to have a sex scene, period," Kunis said in reference to her racy scene with Natalie Portman in Black Swan. "It doesn’t matter if it’s a friend, a male, a female. You’re with 100-something crew members, lighting you, repositioning you, there’s no comfort whatsoever.”

Jon Hamm
"It's like running in the rain," the Mad Men alum said of filming sex scenes. "There's a certain point when you go, 'I'm already wet. I'm not going to get any less wet, so I might as well just enjoy how this feels.' I mean, sure, there's awkwardness about being in a weird flesh-colored thong, bouncing on top of an actress."

Kate Winslet
The Titanic star echoed the sentiments of her fellow actors, but luckily she finds the humor in the situation. “I hate it!" she shared. "Listen make no mistake, I just get on it. I just go in and say ‘Oh f—k’ let’s do it.’ and Boom. If you complain about it or procrastinate it’s not going to go away. Its a profoundly bizarre thing to do. As actors you talk about it all the time. You can literally be tangled in sheets, and you turn to the other actor and say ‘What the f—k are we doing?’ Dear Mum, at work today I had so-and-so’s left nut sack pressed against my cheek. It’s sort of unethical if you think about it in those terms.”

Keira Knightley
The Pirates of the Caribbean alum was so nervous to shoot a spanking scene for A Dangerous Method that she pre- (and post-) gamed for the occasion. "[I did] a couple of shots of vodka—definitely—beforehand, and then a couple of glasses of champagne as a celebration of never having to do that again!” Knightley revealed.

Ryan Reynolds
Reynolds may seem effortlessly smooth, but even he gets flustered while shooting sex scenes. During a visit to The Tonight Show, the actor recalled a particularly uncomfortable moment from the set of The Change-Up alongside co-star Olivia Wilde. "In the scene, she's sitting there and I take her top off and the bra off, and she has those pasties on, but she's drawn these adorable little smiley faces on them," Reynolds explained. "And I forget every line in the scene—not just from this movie but from every other movie I've done."

Anne Hathaway
“There is that revoltingly embarrassing moment when you have to take your clothes off in front of strangers,” Hathaway said of shooting a sex scene. “I mean, I don’t go to the beach in a bikini for a reason. So I thought, ‘OK, I’m going to be in control. I’m going to do everything properly, disrobe at the last minute, and in between shots get the clothes back on.’ But then I found that every time I put my robe back on, it rubbed all the body makeup off, and that added 20 minutes to filming. As with all things in life, the second you stop making it about you and you make it about everyone else, it just got, dare I say, fun.”

Jennifer Lawrence
J. Law got candid about her first sex scene, which she filmed with Chris Pratt for the sci-fi film Passengers. "It was weird. And everything was done right; nobody did anything wrong. It's just a bizarre experience," she told The Hollywood Reporter. How did she get through it? "I got really, really drunk," Lawrence admitted. "But then that led to more anxiety when I got home because I was like, 'What have I done? I don't know.' And he was married. And it was going to be my first time kissing a married man, and guilt is the worst feeling in your stomach. And I knew it was my job, but I couldn't tell my stomach that. So I called my mom, and I was like, 'Will you just tell me it's OK?' It was just very vulnerable. And you don't know what's too much. You want to do it real, you want everything to be real, but then … That was the most vulnerable I've ever been."

Ashton Kutcher
When it comes to shooting sex scenes, Kutcher is sure to cover his bases. "I just start by apologizing," the actor said. "It’s like ... you sort of try to set some ground rules and apologize for like ... I always use Sir Laurence. When in doubt, use Sir Laurence Olivier. I think he said something to the effect of, ‘I apologize if I get aroused and I apologized if I do not get aroused.’”

Kirsten Dunst
"I am on the floor and my clothes are being ripped," is how Dunst described her sex scene with Colin Farrell in The Beguiled. "I don't like it, I don't like it," she told E! of shooting scenes of such an intimate nature. "To be honest, I'm like, 'Let's get this over with as fast as possible.'"
