Cindy Crawford attended the event with her husband Rande Gerber and their two children Kaia and Presley Gerber (above). Kaia stunned in a red strapless dress paired with strappy red heels, and while she has been taking the fashion industry by storm, it was Presley who took home the Emerging Model Award and charmed the crowd. After admitting he was nervous, he said, “Believe it or not, even though my mom was involved, and I grew up with her as a model ... I always hated getting my picture taken, so my parents would have to bribe me to do the family Christmas card.” Keep scrolling for seven more things to know about the star-studded event! 01 of 07 Kim Kardashian West showed off her new ‘do and brought on the laughs. Neilson Barnard/Getty After a long hiatus from the public eye, it seemed like the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star was back to her old self again as she presented the Creative of the Year award to her good friend Mert Alas. “Mert and I both going to be really short tonight; we both didn't have that much to say and I can't really suck in that much longer,” she quipped, as she took the stage, showing off her sleek new bob in a sheer Givenchy bridal-inspired dress. “He is the kind of guy that when you're going through something tough he'll come over and bring you ice cream and just be there with you,” she continued. “Then, after a little a while, he'll tell you you've got to stop eating that ice cream because you've got to start shooting ... He's just truly one of my greatest friends, and we're going to run off to the Chateau [Marmont] and eat French fries after this.” 02 of 07 Paris Jackson accepted her award barefoot. Neilson Barnard/Getty After hitting the carpet in a black and gold Naeem Khan dress and black strappy heels, Michael Jackson’s 19-year-old daughter stepped on stage barefoot to accept the Emerging Talent award from Lucky Blue Smith. While she didn’t mention why she left her shoes at her seat, Paris made sure to encourage everyone to use their voices. “I know I’m still super green and super young, but I’m very excited for what’s to come,” she told the crowd. “I promise to use this platform, as we all should, use my voice to speak for the voiceless, and to fight for the rights that every one of us deserve.” “Do you guys realize the impact that everybody in this room has? We have to f—king use it,” she said. “The glamour is awesome, the designer clothes are awesome, the fashion, everything is so cool, but there’s so much more.” 03 of 07 Nicki Minaj was all about girl power. Stefanie Keenan After accepting the Fashion Rebel award from Fergie in a black belted Versace jacket with lace-up boots, Nicki Minaj told the crowd, “Congratulations to all the girls in this world who are strong, who are confident, and yes, we have insecure moments, and that’s okay. Guess what? You do something that millions of people would never be able to do if they had the opportunity, because it takes guts, it takes balls to fail and to make mistakes in the public eye.” 04 of 07 Yolanda Foster reveals what she instilled in her children. Neilson Barnard/Getty “There’s nothing greater than seeing your children succeed in something that they love, and then on top of it, being successful. It’s joy,” the mom of three, who nabbed the Mother of the Year award told InStyle before she accepted her award, adding that there were a few things she instilled in them early on to keep them grounded. “To be good human beings, to work hard, to be on time, and to always be kind to others, and stay authentic and true to who they are,” she said. “You can’t ever forget your roots, and their roots are on the farm, with horses, in the mud. So that’s really who they are, and I always am the one to remind them that will never change.” 05 of 07 Ashton Kutcher made a surprise appearance. Neilson Barnard/Getty The dad-of-two kicked off the awards by paying tribute to his stylist Samantha McMillen, who wowed in a multicolored Gucci dress. “What a true stylist does is they get to know you,” he told the crowd in a blue suit paired with a checkered button down shirt. “They understand who you are underneath the skin, underneath the armor, underneath the insecurity and the five pounds you don’t want anyone else to see ... Sam does that with absolutely precision ... The things she pulls for me, every single time, are dead on the mark, 100% of the time. They’re not a fad. They are fashion.” Earlier in the night, McMillen told us she draws her inspiration from her clients. “I feel like I just love people, and I think the more you get to know somebody, then it’s easier to dress them, because you see their needs and how they wear their clothes.” She added, “I like a challenge, and I just like dressing to the individual, and making them the best version of who they are and what they want to be.” 06 of 07 All the Big Winners. Stefanie Keenan/Getty In addition to the aforementioned stars, Stella Maxwell took home the award for Model of the Year, telling the crowd, “I think the most powerful aspect of working in fashion is having a voice, both to suggest and influence. With that voice, we have the opportunity to create positive change, and to reinforce already positive action. Let’s work together to be a voice for the things that we believe in.” Lily Aldridge handed Maxwell her award, saying, “To see what you’ve accomplished this year, these past few years, watching you grow as a woman, it’s incredible. You’re so much more than a beautiful person on the outside. You’re beautiful inside.” Gigi Hadid wasn’t on hand, but, nabbed Best Design Debut for her TOMMYXGIGI collection; DVF’s Jonathan Saunders took home Designer of the Year, Busy Philipps presented her longtime stylist Karla Welch with Women’s Stylist of the Year, and Stephen Gan won the Visionary Award. 07 of 07 After the show, it’s the after-party.
