The Best Beauty Products of 2019, According to InStyle's Beauty Editors
For our 24th annual Best Beauty Buys, we surveyed leading dermatologists, makeup artists, hairstylists, and manicurists to find out which products they can't get enough of. The votes are in: You'll want to clear a shelf for these 154 beauty game-changers.
As beauty editors, we test a lot of products. It's a requirement of the job, albeit a very fun one. Given the number of makeup, haircare, and skincare products that come across our desk, there's a handful that standout among the rest.
What really sets a product apart is when it has an innovative formula that's so effective, we use it until the very last drop, or simply scrape the jar clean.
That's where the following 16 products come in. While our annual list of Best Beauty Buys is narrowed down with the help of a panel of top industry makeup artists, hairstylists, and dermatologists, there's a set of products we've tried this year that deserve special mention.

VIDEO: How to Use a Beautyblender
Lightweight Champion: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel
This gel moisturizer is like a tall glass of water for dry skin, but it absorbs almost instantly. That's what makes it so great for all skin types (including oily) and layering under makeup.
Foot Fixer: CND Spa Cucumber Heel Therapy Callus Smoother
After a long winter of wearing socks and boots, you might want to give your feet some extra attention before letting them free this summer. That's where CND's callus treatment comes in. It's packed with exfoliating acids that help smooth heels.
Shower Upgrade: Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer + Firming
It might seem counterintuitive, but this lotion is meant to be applied on wet skin before you step out of the shower. (You don't rinse it off!) However, switching up this step in your routine is worth it. This moisturizer is less messy and leaves skin with a subtle, natural glow.
Body Booster: TRESemmé Thick & Full Balm
Whether you air-dry or use a blow-dryer, simply running this cream through your damp hair adds body and fullness.
Root Remedy: OGX Extra Strength Refreshing Scalp + TeaTree Mint Scalp Treatment
ICYMI: Your scalp needs some love, too. Out of the dozens of scalp products that have hit shelves over the past few years, this minty post-shampoo treatment is a standout. A few drops will refresh your scalp, plus protect it from dryness during the winter months.
Makeup Melter: POND’S Cleansing Balm
This isn't your average makeup remover. The balm melts into an oil that nourishes and repairs dry, cracked skin. Even though it's rich and hydrating, it doesn't leave any greasy residue when you rinse it off.
Air-Dry Assistant: Garnier FructisPure Clean Detangler + Air Dry
Frizz is one of the biggest side effects of air-drying your hair. Luckily, this Garnier spray exists. A few spritzes controls frizz and tangles hair without weighing it down.
Miracle Eye Solution: Perricone MD Essential FX Acyl-Glutathione Eyelid Lift Serum
This lightweight serum infused with antioxidants and botanical oils hydrates and smooths the entire eye area, plus brightens dark circles so you look significantly more awake.
Tech-Neck Defender: StriVectin TL Advanced Tightening Neck Plus
If neck creases concern you, there's a place for this moisturizing cream in your skincare routine. It contains brightening and nourishing ingredients that smooth the look of lines over time.
Feel-Good Mask: Bioré Blue Agave and Baking Soda Whipped Nourishing Detox Mask
If you're looking for a mask that makes for a good Instagram moment and isactually effective, Bioré's detox mask is just the treatment you're looking for. The bright blue, baking soda-based cream sucks the dirt and oil clogging your pores, and leaves skin with an all-over glow.
Quick Curl Refresher: John Frieda Day 2 Revival Curl Reset Spray
Instead of dry shampoo, mist this hydrating spray over your curls to refresh them. Then, use your fingers to redefine their shape.
Strand Savers: Pantene Pro-V Blends Rose Water Sulfate Free Shampoo & Conditioner
A rose-scented shampoo and conditioner by any other name wouldn't be half as sweet as this Pantene combo. Infused with actual rose water, they cleanse and condition colored hair without dulling it.
Digital Revolution: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel
The fact that Sally Hansen's gel-finish nail polish stays chip-free through an entire week of typing and dish-washing by hand is truly a miracle. As for the range of shades this polish comes in? That's phenomenal, too.
Face Refresher: Tata Harper Regenerating Facial Cleanser
This cleanser achieves a rare feat: It exfoliates skin to get rid of dirt, oil, and buildup, but it's gentle enough to be used every single day. That's because instead of harsh ingredients, the cleanser is formulated with apricot seed powder and pink clay and pomegranate enzymes, three natural exfoliants. Expect to see an immediate glow once you've rinsed it off.
Seamless Blender: Chanel Les Pinceaux de Chanel Foundation-Blending Brush
With so many different makeup brushes out there, it's a struggle pairing what tool to use with what products. This Chanel brush gets rid of the confusion — for foundation at least. It can be used to blend any formulation from powder, cream, to liquid.
Pretty Plumper: Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Lip Bath
Wear Charlotte Tilbury's plumping gloss alone or layered over your favorite lipstick. Either way, the marine collagen infused into its formula will hydrate lips and make them appear more full.
