I Tried 9 of TikTok's Viral Beauty Products — Here's What's Worth The Hype
I'm too old to be an E-Girl or VSCO girl, but there's no age limit to scrolling through TikTok to see what the youth are up to. While the best (and questionable) beauty hacks now live on the social media app that's popular with Gen Z, it's also a free space where beauty products become famous.
Thanks to viral videos by TikTok influencers, affordable beauty products that have been around for years, like CeraVe's facial cleanser and Bio-Oil, are trending again. New product drops are also selling out because of TikTok. Take Maybelline's Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara for instance, which has sold out four times at Ulta thanks to a few 60-second before-and-after videos.
While I'm not an active TikTok user, I often check in to see what products Gen Z are just discovering that millennials, like myself, already have in our routines.
Below, nine viral TikTok beauty products that live up to the thousands views and likes. And if you add all of them to your cart, don't blame me. TikTok made you do it.
CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser
Blame skincare specialist Hyram if CeraVe's Hydrating Facial Cleanser is sold out at your location drugstore. A handful of the affordable drugstore brand's products have gone viral on TikTok, but none are as popular as this cleanser. Oily skin types might find the creamy face wash a bit too hydrating, but my combination skin loves it. Packed with ceramides, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid, the cleanser effectively gets rid of makeup and dirt without leaving my skin feeling tight and dry. I've used it as my sole face wash in the morning, and as the second step in my double cleanse at night. Bonus points for the formula being fragrance-free and non-comedogenic.

L'Oréal Paris Makeup Infallible Flash Cat Eye Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
My eyeliner skills deserve a pat on the back. That being said, I didn't always get my cat eye right on the first try. But if L'Oréal's Flash Cat Eye Liquid Eyeliner existed in high school, I wouldn't have as many cringy photos from that period in my life. The liquid liner has a super-fine felt tip that allows for precision and prevents ink blots while you're drawing on your wing, while the stencil ensures proper placement of the wing, as well as a clean line every time. I get why TikTok teens freak out over it.

Ariana Grande Cloud Eau de Parfum
One thing I do have in common with the kids on TikTok is that I love Ariana Grande. While celebrity fragrances don't get me going anymore (there are so many that all smell similar), Cloud's bottle is cute, and the combo of pear, bergamot, vanilla, orchid, and blond woods smell warm, but fresh. Plus, the price is affordable, but it smells way more expensive.

Bio-Oil Skincare Oil
Anyone who's ever stepped foot in a drugstore is familiar with Bio-Oil. The multi-use oil claims to prevent and minimize scars and stretch marks, smooth uneven skin tones, and hydrate dry skin. While TikTok influencer @simplybeautyhacks posted a video of the with the caption "This oil is magic," it quickly went viral. Personally, I haven't had much luck with this oil fading old stretch marks, but it is super nourishing and has helped deal dry patches of skin.

e.l.f. 16HR Camo Concealer
This full-coverage concealer covers my hyperpigmentation and dark circles beautifully without feeling too heavy on my skin. I get why it gets rave reviews on TikTok from users who claim it's a dupe to Tarte's cult-classic Shape Tape concealer. The formula comes in 25 shades that encompass various undertones. It's also great for contouring, if that's your thing.

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
Let me preface by saying this peel is no joke. While I get the blood red hue is great for video, it should be used with caution due to the high percentages of exfoliating AHA and BHA acids. That being said, it does delivers results. I use it once every two weeks for instantly smoother skin and it makes my zits that have been hanging out under my skin come to a head. Plus, you can't beat the $7 price tag for a product with quality ingredients.

Mary Kay Hydrogel Eye Patches
Yes, these bubblegum pink eye patches are photogenic, but they're extremely hydrating and cooling, too. What I like about these patches is they don't leave your skin feeling clammy. And they're customizable. Flip them so the round end is at the out corner of the eyes to target crow's feet, while the other way will target puffiness. They can also be used on the laugh lines around your mouth and on forehead lines.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara
Thanks to TikTok, Maybelline's newest mascara sold out four times at Ulta. So is this volumizing mascara worth the hype? The short answer is yes! It has a flexible plastic wand with bristles that catch every single lash — even those baby ones. As for the actual mascara, it contains fibers to make lashes look fluttery and bamboo extract to condition them. One coat makes my lashes look thick and fluffy and so much longer. Consider this mascara the other iconic pink tube from Maybelline.
