Hanahana Celebrates Its 5-Year Anniversary With Yet Another Way to Honor Yourself
The term "self-care" has become buzzier than ever in recent years. And you should believe the hype — it's an integral part of life.
While it won't always look like a 12-hour spa day, doing something as simple as taking a warm shower, then slathering your body in one of the many Hanahana Beauty's Shea Body Butters can definitely do the trick. And that's truly what the brand is all about: making their community, both in the US and Ghana, where the ingredients are sustainably sourced, feel good.
With March marking five whole years since Hanahana's initial launch, the cult-favorite skincare brand wanted to give its customers yet another way to honor themselves as a part of their self-care routines.
On Mar. 15, the line launched the appropriately named Take Care Collection — created in collaboration with Chicago-based artist Mia Lee — which includes a Bamboo Coconut-scented Shea Body Butter, the Take Care Silky scarf to wrap hair or be used as an accessory, as well as the Take Care Card Deck for daily affirmations.
"Reflecting on the last five years of Hanahana Beauty, we've truly been able to grow a responsive community that is excited by our products, activations, mission — especially around how we approach skincare, sustainability, and storytelling," Abena Boamah, CEO and founder of Hanahana Beauty shares with InStyle. "For us, growth is really intentional."

With the overwhelming success of Hanahana Beauty thus far and the brand's commitment to working with Katariga Women's Shea Cooperative in Ghana to sustainably source ingredients, Boamah isn't necessarily looking to flip the script moving forward, but rather, simply stay true to her mission.
"Looking ahead to the next five years, our focus is on how we continue to reach and expand our community, while bringing innovation to product creation when it comes to daily-use, results-driven skincare," says Boamah. "We also look forward to expanding our social impact initiatives, not only in Ghana, but also in our surrounding Black and Brown communities in Chicago."
The Hanahana x Mia Lee Take Care Collection will be available to purchase on Mar. 15 at 11:30 a.m. CST/12:30 p.m. EST.
