If you've read a handful of my stories before, then it won't come as a surprise to you that fall and winter are not my favorite seasons. Outside is cold, inside is dry — and so is my skin until spring rolls around again.

For whatever reason, though, fall 2021 seems to be worse than previous years. Maybe it's the fact that this past summer was the first time in nearly two years that we could gather with friends and family and the thought of hunkering down for winter is depressing. Or maybe my body has just had enough of the cold. Either way, my skin was looking especially dull, flaky, and feeling rough for weeks, and I wasn't having it.

I alternate between a nightly AHA serum and retinol, but neither were really doing the trick. So I decided to reach into my cabinet and pull out the heavy artillery: Drunk Elephant's Babyfacial AHA + BHA Mask.

This strong, yet gentle peel offers a power-packed formula featuring 25% AHA, 2% BHA, and chickpea flour to help balance and brighten dull skin.

Together, these ingredients quickly get rid of dead skin and reveal a noticeably smoother, more glowy complexion in just 20 minutes.

To use, I start by cleansing and drying my face. Next, I apply a thin, even layer of Babyfacial all over my face, making sure to avoid my eyes, nostrils, and lips. Once I'm done, I set a timer for 20 minutes, and go wash the dishes or tidy up. Then I rinse it off, apply a few drops of the brand's Virgin Marula Luxury Face Oil, and enjoy my newly bright, smooth complexion.

With the amount of dry, dead skin I had (which I'm sure was accelerated by stress, the weather, and seasonal blues), it felt like Babyfacial took 10 years of struggle off my face almost instantly. And for that, I am forever grateful.

This is why you should never forget about your day ones.
