Hopefully it's not a hot take to say that nepotism, in general, isn't good (even Elizabeth Olsen agrees). Yet there's no shame in playing favorites and filling your routine with a single skincare family when you encounter chart-topping lines like Acure. The brand's best-selling face scrub instantly unveils soft, smooth skin for $9, and unsurprisingly, its Brightening Glowing Serum carries the sunny yellow torch.

The serum wins extraordinary reviews from shoppers searching for a way to minimize wrinkles, moisturize, prevent acne, keep redness at bay, and of course, brighten skin. In a review titled "best face oil ever," one shopper describes the feat the multi-talented formula pulls off. "This has been a miracle. Not a single breakout, blackhead, whitehead or clogged pore," they write. "Skin sucks it in and plumps up. My skin is now almost translucent and glowing. No dark marks, no large pores, [and] wrinkles are almost nonexistent."

Those with sensitive faces especially laud the "liquid gold" oil for the significant difference it makes in scars, hyperpigmentation and fine lines, since unlike tons of other anti-aging products, the formula doesn't rely on sometimes harsh, but effective ingredients like retinol or resurfacing acids. Instead, the ingredients are a medley of softening oils like safflower seed oil, sesame seed oil, pumpkin seed oil, borage seed oil, argan oil, and cranberry seed oil.

According to cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Michele Green, the combination is an antioxidant-rich swirl that protects from free radical damage and oxidative stress, reduces inflammation, brightens your skin tone and aids in cellular repair. The ingredients above also contain omega fatty acids 3 and 6, Green says, which protect the skin barrier and hydrate, along with vitamin E, another antioxidant that counteracts inflammation.

"In the end, that means a bouncier, glowing, hydrated, and healthy-looking skin," Green tells InStyle, while "vitamin A, perhaps one of the most powerful antioxidants of them all, is best known for its ability to reverse the aging process through cell turnover eliminating fine lines and wrinkles." The blend paves the way for results that sound pretty remarkable: At 66, one person says a few months of using the lightweight oil gave them skin "like that of a much younger person's," and a stunning zero (0) wrinkles.

Others write that the serum is "absolutely amazing at firming up your skin," a span of 10 days enough to make an enormous difference. "My mom told me my skin looks like it did back in my early 20s (I'm 30, with five kids)," the reviewer says. As a bonus, it also got rid of the puffiness around their eyes — excellent news now that spring allergies are rearing their ugly head. The shopper concludes that they'll be buying Acure's serum again, although given they've "barely put a dent in it," they're not expecting to run out any time soon.

Thanks to the FDA's hands-off approach to product labels and ingredients, beauty brands have almost complete discretion over what goes in products — so reassuringly, Acure has an extensive list of ingredients they won't use, including parabens, sulfates, formaldehyde, mineral oil, and petrolatum (the latter two aren't bad for skin that's not specifically allergic to them, but they are fossil fuel derivatives). The brand is vegan and cruelty-free on top of it all, creating the perfect storm for happy, glowing, guilt-free skin. Get in on the action with the on-sale serum now.
