Self-love is an ongoing inward journey. The hope is that positivity for oneself will combat internal negativity, but we know the process isn't easy. Luckily, there are crystals that can make it easier for us to lean into our best selves.

Since crystals have the power to change the energy in a room and evolve someone's feelings, they're able to add optimism to everyone's lives. Using them can help boost our confidence to reach great emotional heights and open ourselves up to personal love. Plus, they're a wonderful source of inspiration and hope — especially when it comes to manifesting self-love.

You can wear self-love crystals as jewelry (keeping them close to your heart as a necklace), place them in the bath to charge the healing water, keep them by your bed at night, place them on your chakras, hold them in your hands as you meditate, and let them reside in different rooms of your home. As long as they are out in the open and in the vicinity of your scope, they'll do their work and give your heart TLC in the form of self-love.

Here are some crystals that experts recommend for attracting this into your life.

Aisha Amarfio, a shamanic healer and author of "Crystals: A Guide to Using the Crystal Compass for Energy, Healing, and Reclaiming Your Power," recommends rhodonite as it aids in setting boundaries, which is an essential part of self-love. "Rhodonite brings compassion that is unafraid to assert boundaries and put your needs first, giving your passion and heart's desire more room to guide you in your life," she says. "It has some fire to it to help us follow our path of heart."

Amarfio also recommends chrysoprase to bring an unconditional sense of love to our hearts. She says it's a stone that helps us to release judgment, guilt, or shame we have held towards ourselves. "It has a beautifully soothing Mother Earth vibe, healing emotional blockages and reminding us of our oneness with nature and the beauty of who we are in all our wholeness," she adds.

Cobalto Calcite

Grave Duong, author of "Mystic Mondays: The Crystal Grid Deck: An 80-Card Deck to Charge Your Intentions," recommends cobalto calcite. "Self-love rituals are encouraged with this stone, especially those that nourish and honor your body as a temple," she shares. Place this stone in your hand while meditating, or by your side while you rest, to absorb its positive energies.

Pink Halite

"Vibrating with love, pink halite allows you to shed layers of negative thought patterns and beliefs as you connect to the essence of your true self," says Duong. Releasing negative thought patterns is an essential part of self-care, which is why this stone is ideal for changing how we think and feel about ourselves.

Pink Fluorite

It's important to be present, at peace, and in rhythm with yourself — and pink fluorite is a great stone to help you achieve the above. "[It] mends pieces of the soul, reintegrating its fragments to make you feel whole again," says Duong.

According to tarot reader Caitlin McGarry, the shade of green in aventurine nurtures and activates the heart chakra. She also says it summons compassion and prosperity, which are necessary qualities in self-love practices.

McGarry also recommends the moonstone as "it calls upon feminine healing and balance." Plus, it's great for opening the heart during moon rituals and lunar intention setting.

Rose Quartz

Narayana Montúfar, author of "Moon Signs: Unlock Your Inner Luminary Power," suggests the popular crystal. She states it helps with healing the heart and is associated with the heart chakra. "Rose quartz can be used in meditation or personal practice to tap into your heart," she says. "It's a pretty gentle crystal, but tends to be rather powerful with its healing abilities."

Another crystal that Montúfar recommends is citrine. According to her, it can help you in your self-love journey by helping you tap into your self-confidence, joy, and creativity. "Citrine is also a protective stone as it does not hold negative energy," she adds.

Peacock Ore

Esoteric life coach Christine O'Day recommends the stone peacock ore, also known as bornite stone. It's great for healing and aligning the chakras in the body, which is why it's used by Reiki practitioners to boost self-love, confidence, and overall feel-good vibes. O'Day says that "peacock ore has the colors of the rainbow in it, so it gives you a sense of joy and peace within yourself from the healing energy of this stone."

O'Day likes to use this stone as its "calming blue color brings you back to your center, grounded and secure in yourself," which can help one radiate self-love. Being that turquoise stabilizes our hearts, it helps us see and value our self-worth.

Author of "The Cosmo Tarot: The Ultimate Deck and Guidebook," Sarah Potter used morganite for both her personal and professional life. "This gorgeous, light pink stone opens our hearts to give and receive unconditional love while releasing any fears and self-judgment," she explains. "It's very healing and helps us to embody a compassionate mindset as we lean into our own personal power and confidence."

Potter adds that another great crystal for self-love is aquamarine. "It's a soothing, protective stone that encourages calm communication. Use this one to speak confidently and courageously about your needs or when you need to let go of any fears around creating positively impactful changes in your life," she says, adding that it has chill energy but is very empowering.

Theresa Reed, author of the "Tarot for Kids," believes that boundaries are one of the most loving things you can do for yourself, and once you implement limits you can then give yourself the love that you need. She says that amazonite is a favorite crystal of hers. "The beautiful blue color is soothing — and this stone seems to impart a gentle, loving energy," she says. "Keep it on your body or in your home and you'll find the strength to assert yourself without needing to be aggressive."

Reed says that pyrite is known as "fool's gold." This shiny stone reflects negativity away from you, and you can either wear it or keep it around your home to ensure you're surrounded by positive and loving vibes.

Watermelon Tourmaline

Renee Watt, host of "The Glitter Cast" podcast, recommends watermelon tourmaline. "It's one of the most comforting and powerful stones available, connecting our hearts to the universe," she says. "It's a unique combination of pink and green opens up the heart chakra, bringing through divine healing and unconditional self-love. Grab this crystal when you're feeling emotionally closed off, or as though your soul could use some soothing."

Calcite reduces stress that can give us clarity of the love we have to give ourselves. "Blue or green calcite are amazing facilitators for relaxation, bringing with it the same healing elements that you might find in a mineral bath at a luxurious spa," says Watt.
