Photo: Getty Images I like to think that if I'm ever mysteriously murdered, a cadre of podcast-honed detectives will take on the case. I anticipate a challenge for them: I shed hair all over the place. So much of it that I imagine my DNA must be all over New York City, spread like dandelions on the wind. And while I haven't had much luck with growth shampoos cutting down the shed, Amazon shoppers say one Swedish shampoo makes their hair feel soft, full, and thick. Sachajuan's Thickening Shampoo hails from the land of gummy fish, Abba, and Ikea, yet it's so chic, supermodels like Elsa Hosk and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley have said they use the line. Its bottle has the minimalist, apothecary-like look that does so well on Instagram, but the real goodness is inside: Red algae extract, glycerin, and a gentle surfactant cleanse and condition hair. Although the formula does contain lilial — aka butylphenyl methylpropional, a synthetic fragrance banned by the EU due to its potential reproductive toxicity. So if you're wary, this clean shampoo may be more your speed. "After a month of regular use, my aging, fine, and thinning hair looks plumper and thicker," wrote one fan of the Sachajuan, who added that it also lets them go four days between shampoos. Others said it makes their hair "very silky and soft," and they've noticed less breakage and hair loss on top of healthier-feeling strands. The formula lathers easily, smells nice, and leaves hair "clean and shiny" — all of which makes it well worth the cost, according to customers. "With this shampoo, my hair seriously looks twice as thick." A little goes a long way, too, even for people with oily scalps. Per one such person, it kept their hair volumized for the entire day in a "surprisingly great" turn of events. The body it adds is no joke: According to another user with naturally thin hair, the shampoo creates layers of volume so they can style their hair how they please. Even compared to Nioxin, another much-loved thickening shampoo, shoppers are impressed; "Sachajuan works best, hands down," wrote someone who tried both. The volume-enhancing shampoo is so popular that only the travel version is in stock on Dermstore, but if you'd like to give it a go, you can still get the full size for $27 on Amazon.
