Many of today's trends and products have roots in these countries' ancient rituals or are inspired by K- and J-beauty innovations, but they're often appropriated or adopted by Western society without proper credit. With the increase of hate crimes directed toward AAPI people throughout COVID-19, and the systemic racism that has historically been present in the beauty industry, there is no better time than now to lend support to the community.
